Matty Hill Obituary, Sunshine Coast, QLD Death: In Loving Memory Of A Cherished Resident

The passing of Matty Hill has left the Yaroomba Beach community in deep sorrow, as family, friends, and fellow surfers come together in mourning. In a place defined by the ocean’s sense of freedom and connection, it now carries a shared feeling of profound loss.

Matty was more than a familiar presence along the shoreline—he was part of the very spirit of Yaroomba Beach. A passionate surfer and devoted lover of the sea, he lived with a quiet intensity that touched everyone around him. Whether riding waves or spending time on the sand, he radiated calmness, sincerity, and an authenticity that left a lasting impression.

To his family, his passing is an immeasurable loss. To his father John Hill, mother Dee Hill Bryers, brother Nathan Elliott, and extended family including Jodie Mulder, Matty was a deeply loved son, brother, and treasured presence whose memory will remain forever in their hearts. While no words can ease such grief, the love and support surrounding them may offer strength in the difficult days ahead.

Matty’s time at Nambour State High School and within his local community helped shape a young man known for his kindness, genuineness, and strong connections with others. He built friendships rooted in shared experiences, laughter, and a mutual appreciation for life by the ocean.

As the waves continue to roll onto Yaroomba’s shore, they carry with them the memory of someone who found peace and purpose in the sea. His presence in the water, his calm determination, and his love for surfing will be remembered by all who shared the lineup with him.

Though gone far too soon, Matty Hill’s spirit will endure in every sunrise, every breaking wave, and in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
