Harrison Doyle Morris Obituary, Macon, GA Accident Death: Family And Community Mourns A Loss
The community of Macon, Georgia, is grappling with the tragic loss of 16-year-old Harrison Doyle Morris, who was killed in a horrific off-road accident on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The crash, which occurred in a rural area near the intersection of Vinson Road and Liberty Church Road, also left three other teenagers hospitalized. According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, a group of four teenagers was traveling in a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck when the 16-year-old driver lost control during an off-road maneuver. The truck overturned, and Harrison, who was riding in the exterior bed, was ejected. The force of the ejection caused catastrophic injuries, and despite immediate emergency medical efforts, Harrison was pronounced dead at the scene by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
The other three teenagers, who were in the cab of the truck, were injured but not believed to have life-threatening injuries. A 16-year-old male was driving, and two other teens—one 15 and one unidentified—were passengers in the front and rear seats. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
As investigators work to understand the cause of the crash, they are looking into several factors, including the dangers of having a passenger in the bed of the truck during an off-road maneuver, the dynamics of the truck’s loss of control, and the terrain conditions near Liberty Church Road. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is calling for anyone with information about the incident or the events leading up to it to come forward. The loss of Harrison has left a deep emotional toll on his family, friends, and the entire community, as they remember him with love and grief.
