Brandon James Butler Obituary Car Accident Kershaw County Death: In Loving Memory Of A Beloved Resident

The Elgin community is mourning the tragic loss of Brandon James Butler, 29, who was killed in a heartbreaking hit-and-run accident early Thursday morning in Kershaw County.

According to the Kershaw County Coroner’s Office, a 911 call was received at 1:26 a.m. reporting a man lying on the ground in the 1200 block of Wildwood Lane, near Chestnut Road. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered Butler with severe injuries, having been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Investigators believe Butler was walking toward Elgin along Wildwood Lane when the vehicle struck him. Despite immediate efforts to save him, he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT Team, alongside the Kershaw County Coroner’s Office, is actively investigating the incident as a hit-and-run. Authorities are working diligently to identify the vehicle and driver responsible for the crash.

As family, friends, and the community come to terms with this devastating loss, Brandon James Butler is being remembered as a young man whose life was cut short far too soon. His passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew him, as they now seek healing and answers.
