The Joliet community is grieving the loss of Isaak G. Torres, 18, who tragically passed away following a two-vehicle crash on Thursday night, April 9, 2026. The accident occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Route 59 near Hammel Woods in Shorewood, Illinois, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities report that the crash involved two vehicles, each with only one occupant. Both drivers were transported to Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet after the collision. Despite efforts to save him, Isaak Torres was pronounced deceased at 11:04 p.m. The second driver, a 23-year-old Joliet man, suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital.
