Jesse San Nicolas Obituary, California, MD Accident Death: Gone But Never Forgptten

Authorities in St. Mary’s County are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that claimed the life of Jesse San Nicolas, 40, in the early hours of Friday morning, April 10, 2026.

According to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 2:26 a.m. to the 22700 block of southbound Three Notch Road near Town Creek Drive after multiple 911 calls reported a person lying in the roadway. When emergency personnel arrived, they discovered an adult male alongside a bicycle in the southbound lanes. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by firefighters and EMS crews, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators later identified the man as Jesse San Nicolas of California, Maryland.

A preliminary investigation indicates that San Nicolas was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of Three Notch Road when he was struck by multiple vehicles. Authorities confirmed that a 2016 BMW 528i sedan, driven by a 21-year-old man from Waldorf, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

However, officials also say a second vehicle struck the victim and fled the scene. That vehicle is believed to be a dark blue or black Dodge Caravan, model years 2011–2020, and may have sustained visible front-end damage consistent with the collision. Investigators are continuing efforts to identify the driver involved in the hit-and-run.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Team has taken over the investigation and is working to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the crash. Authorities initially believed a third vehicle may have been involved, but later clarified that it was a witness who stopped and contacted emergency services after the incident.

Southbound lanes of Three Notch Road were closed for several hours as investigators processed the scene, causing significant traffic delays in the surrounding area.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to seek information from witnesses and potential surveillance footage. Officials are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident or sightings of a damaged Dodge Caravan to come forward.

Jesse San Nicolas will be remembered as loved ones and the community mourn a sudden and tragic loss.
