Daniel Omarion Carter Obituary, Chesterfield County Shooting Death: Family Mourns, Suspect Arrested

A beloved member of the Pageland community, Daniel Omarion Carter, 23, was tragically killed in a shooting early on the morning of April 13, 2026, in Chesterfield County. His untimely death has left his family and friends devastated, as they process the sudden loss of someone so young and full of life.

According to the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal shooting occurred around 7:45 a.m. when deputies responded to a call in Pageland. Carter was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a hospital, where he later passed away despite efforts to save him.

Law enforcement quickly turned their attention to the investigation and, through diligent work, identified 27-year-old Reggie Martavious Ivey as the suspect. Ivey, who had fled the scene after the shooting, was located and arrested in Monroe, North Carolina, following a coordinated effort between local agencies.

Sheriff Cambo Streater expressed his deepest sympathies to Carter’s family, vowing that the department would continue to pursue justice for the victim. Ivey has been charged with murder, with additional charges likely to follow as investigators continue their work.
