Jamison Phillips Obituary, Arnaudville Accident Death: Jamison Phillips, 19, Dies in Roadway Crash
A devastating tragedy in St. Martin Parish has left the community mourning the loss of 19-year-old Jamison Phillips of Arnaudville, who tragically died after being thrown from a utility trailer during a roadway crash, according to Louisiana State Police.
Troopers reported that Phillips passed away on Saturday, April 11, several days after the incident occurred on Monday, April 6, around noon. The crash took place on LA 686 Frontage Road, near LA 347 in the Cecilia area of St. Martin Parish.
Preliminary reports indicate that a 2019 Ram 1500 was traveling east on LA 686, towing a utility trailer. Phillips was riding inside the trailer, which was being used to transport a mattress. For reasons still under investigation, Phillips was ejected from the trailer and fell into the roadway.
He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the truck, who was wearing a seatbelt, was unharmed. Louisiana State Police also confirmed that routine blood samples were collected from the driver as part of the ongoing investigation.
At this time, authorities have not disclosed the specific cause of Phillips being ejected from the trailer, and the investigation remains active.
